Zagreb Indoors: Guillermo Garcia-Lopez defeats Andreas Seppi to claim fourth ATP title

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez: Defeated Andreas Seppi in straight sets

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez defeated Andreas Seppi 7-6 6-3 in the final of the Zagreb Indoors for his fourth career ATP Tour title.

The third seed rallied from 4-1 down in the first-set tie-breaker, winning six straight points to clinch the set.

Seppi, who defeated Roger Federer in the Australian Open, earned the first break of the match for a 3-2 lead in the second, but Spain's Garcia-Lopez responded again by winning the next four games.

He clinched the win when Seppi sent a backhand into the net. It was the last of 40 unforced errors by the fifth-seeded Italian.

"I'm very happy. This was an extremely difficult match, it was hard to earn a point," said Garcia-Lopez.

Garcia-Lopez was consistent in long rallies and played patiently from the baseline, but both players were below 50 per cent on first serve.

"It was a difficult match. I think he played very good tactically," said Seppi.

"Sure it did not feel nice to lose the set after being 4-1 up. At 4-3 we played a long rally. I was still pretty calm after I lost the set, I was even a break up in the second, but I lost concentration in the middle of the second set."
